Twelve years after the devastating Nyanya Motor Park bombing, a Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced 37 year old Zakaria Garba to death by hanging for his role in the attack.

Garba pleaded guilty to terrorism charges linked to the 14 April 2014 explosion, which killed more than 70 people and left many others with serious injuries during the morning rush hour. The court also handed him life imprisonment on one count and lengthy prison terms on two others.
